Let me begin by asking what is a “breakthrough”? I looked for a definition that would be befitting for what I’m about to share and I found this: A breakthrough is something that changes the course of your life going forward and ensures that things will never be the same for you again. Most of what a breakthrough requires is for us to have the courage and the bravery to stop settling for second best.
So, here’s my story: I’ve been toying with the idea of becoming a life coach, since I started Order Your Steps, more than 10 years ago. Once I became an evangelist, I thought that I could cross life coach off my goals list, however, the two roles are not the same. So, it just so happened that the Holy Ghost struck again. My cousin called me to refer a new client to me. She was also a professional organizer, but she told me was now a certified Christian life coach. I explained to her that I had been interested in becoming a life coach, so she suggested that I go through a coaching session with her, to better understand the experience.
For the past few years, especially with the onset of the pandemic, I’ve continued to try to understand where the Lord is taking my ministry. I’ve often said during this podcast, that I’ve been compelled to strive to encourage and inspire women especially during these most difficult times. We’ve never sure of the exact path that the Lord has laid before us, but His message to me has been very consistent, and that is for all of you to pause and listen!
During our life coaching session, my cousin asked a series of very thought-provoking questions and when we were about an hour into the session, I felt overwhelmed by the presence of the Holy Spirit, and as I was talking, I started to tear up, but I didn’t really understand why at the time. However, it was in that moment that I realized that the listening to the Holy Spirit was not just to hear His direction and instruction for our daily lives, but in that moment of pause, we may hear the answer to our many prayers. This was my breakthrough! Something had changed the course of my life going forward. You may be able to see it from my perspective, but the Holy Spirit has shown me a whole new dimension to what His message had been to me and how I should share that message, especially to other women, and men too, if given the opportunity.
I’ve often heard prayer defined as simply having a conversation with God. During this time with the Lord, we talk, usually asking Him for something, however, it must also be a time to listen.
Your own ears will hear him.
Isaiah 30:21 NLT
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.
I’m on a mission to do whatever it takes to do what the Lord needs me to do, how about you? “When we do our part in the natural, we get to watch God do a miracle in the supernatural.”

Next week, we may talk a little more about listening… when it’s silent, unless the Holy Spirit says otherwise.
