We will Walk across the Red Sea on Dry Land

In July of last year, I had a “Holy Ghost Download” regarding the miracle of Moses and the children of Israel crossing the Red Sea on Dry Land.  Unfortunately, I can’t tell you the whole Amazing story, so please take some time to read Exodus 14. Briefly, the children of Israel had been in bondage for over 400 years and they had now been freed to enter the land of milk and honey that the Lord had promised to their forefathers. As they were fleeing, they found themselves between the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh’s army behind them.  They were so afraid that they turned to Moses and said, didn’t we tell you we wanted to stay in Egypt (in slavery) … Really! Moses takes a deep breathe and says, Just calm down, God’s got this. (Exodus 14:14 Candy’s paraphased version)

But not unlike us, while in the midst of a pandemic, in our moments of hopelessness, we might have asked the Lord, “why didn’t you just leave us where we were”? For some of us, I’d venture to say that going back to “normal”, may not be so great… but “Moving Forward” toward our Red Sea, there are miracles that we can’t imagine and as we take a moment to look behind us, we see that our enemies have all drowned!

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. Exodus 14:21-22 KJV

I must admit that I had often wondered why God sent that particular “Holy Ghost Download”, in the midst of a time that can’t be explained. However, I have seen His Hand in so many ways. I know it’s so hard right now and these are only words. We must understand that our lives are a faith walk.  My youngest daughter said something very profound, as she so often does, “God does not tell us to take that leap of faith with our eyes open, because He knows if we saw what was coming, we wouldn’t leap at all”. But in faith, we jump with our eyes closed and allow our Holy Spirit to lead and guide us safely through our life’s journey. As our vision in life, becomes too big for our soul to handle, then it’s just the right size for the Holy Spirit to take control.

I pray that today you take a quiet moment to listen to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying!
